2017

First Exposure to Overseas Talent

Drawn by his love for salsa dancing and warm weather, NeoWork's founder, Joshua journeyed to Medellín, Colombia for a year.

There, he built an augmented reality training platform and was blown away by the level of local engineering talent he found.

He began to wonder: How much more top-notch talent was there in Colombia and other countries just waiting to be leveraged on the global stage?

2018

Experiencing the Power 
of Outsourcing

Back in Los Angeles, Joshua was brought on as an early employee of Bird during its hyper-growth phase, reaching a $2 billion valuation in its first year.

On assignment in Manila, Philippines, Joshua assembled a dynamic operations team of 33 teammates in just six weeks.

This experience showcased the value of an excellent global team for effective scaling. If outsourcing helped Bird so much, surely countless other American companies could benefit too.

2019

Understanding the BPO-Client Gap

As his interest in the outsourcing space grew, Joshua realized something wasn’t adding up. There was no shortage of international talent ready to help staff American companies and no shortage of American companies in need of it.

Yet most BPO companies were producing subpar results, plagued by high turnover, burnout, and strained client relationships.

The breakdown had little to do with the actual staffers and everything to do with how they were treated, trained, and managed.
